On August 20, 2007, CalPERS will be mailing ballots to all retired members for the election of a new retired representative to the CalPERS Board of Administration. Members retiring on or after June 1, 2007 are eligible to vote.

At the June meeting of the CAHP Board of Directors, the board voted to endorse Henry Jones for the position of the retiree representative to the CalPERS Board of Administration. Mr. Jones demonstrated his qualifications to serve in such a capacity, being a retired Chief Financial Officer who worked for the Los Angeles Unified School District.

The CAHP asks that retired members receiving a ballot vote for Henry Jones. If you are a retired member who retired on or after June 1, 2007, and you do not receive a ballot from CalPERS by September 10, 2007, contact CalPERS at (800) 794-2297.
