Please note: The deadline to apply for the 2017/2018  scholarship has passed. Winners will be announced in the fall of 2017.

To qualify, you must be a dependent, college-age child of an active, retired or deceased California Highway Patrol Officer. If the Highway Patrol Officer has ever been awarded the Medal of Valor, your application will be considered for the Medal of Valor Scholarship Award. In addition, the financially dependent, college-age children of any active California police officer or deputy sheriff are eligible to apply for the Herman L. Lenz Memorial Scholarship. Please review the application for more details.

If you are unable to digitally sign the application, you may print and sign it and either scan and email it, or mail it to our office.

2. Write a personal goals statement in essay format.

3. Submit the application and  personal goals statement to info@thecahp.org (if signed digitally) or mail them to:

4. Submit an official school transcript. If transcripts are emailed, they must come from the school, not from the student. Please remember to ask your school for official transcripts as soon as possible. Some school’s registrar offices close for the summer.
