CAHP Cares Request
Officer Marcus Renner, I.D. 19169

CAHP Update

A CAHP Cares account has been established for CHP Officer Marcus Renner, I.D. 19169, and his family. He works in the South Sacramento office.

Officer Renner’s wife, Natalie Renner, gave birth to Mason Lucia Renner on September 7, 2021. Mason was quickly diagnosed with Pfeiffer syndrome, a bone structure condition that affects the way that the skull structure is formed prior to birth. This condition is also known as craniosynostosis.

As a result, young Mason underwent at least six major surgeries, the first at just 10 days old. From multiple skull surgeries to allow her brain to grow, to a shunt put into her brain, to a tracheotomy just a few months ago in April to allow her to breathe, Mason was on constant in-home care and was unable to enjoy a “normal” toddler life as she has been hospitalized for approximately 100 days of her young life. On June 15, Mason had another skull surgery performed to open the back of her skull to allow for that portion of her brain to grow. During the surgery, Mason suffered what the surgeons have called a massive stroke. Mason had no cognitive function and the family has been told to begin planning for the horrible reality that Mason most likely will not recover from this. It was just a matter of time before Mason’s body gave up. Since the original CAHP Cares request was sent out via email, Mason did indeed pass away.

Marcus’s wife, Natalie, has been unable to maintain full-time employment since the birth of Mason. While the family’s medical insurance helps, it does not fully cover all the tests, procedural expenses, and in-home care that Mason requires. Additionally, with this latest news, more costs will be incurred if/when funeral arrangements need to be made.

The CAHP Cares Committee has established a CAHP Cares account for the family to help with these costs. If you would like to contribute to the fund you can donate via paypal.

You can also send a check (made out to CAHP) to:
